Powerbuilding at Dune Training combines the best of powerlifting and bodybuilding in a single 60-minute session. At 60 Avenue Mohammed V, Gueliz district, Marrakech, you train raw strength on compound lifts while building a balanced, muscular physique. Groups are capped at 12 with constant coaching so you get spotted on heavy sets and corrected on accessory form.
The warm-up lasts 10-12 minutes and specifically prepares the day's main lift. If it is squat day, we do air squats, goblet squats with a 16 kg kettlebell, and a progressive loading ramp (empty bar, then 40%, 60%, 80% of working weight). The coach checks your position at each step before increasing load. This ramp-up protocol protects your joints and primes your nervous system for heavy work.
The strength block takes 20-25 minutes. You work one of three fundamental lifts: back squat, conventional or sumo deadlift, or bench press. Typical format: 5 sets of 3-5 reps at 80-90% of your max, with 2-3 minutes rest between sets. The coach is there to give a safe spot, cue your bracing, and fix technique under heavy load. This is where you build real-world strength.
Then comes the hypertrophy block: 20-25 minutes of accessory exercises for muscular volume. For example, after squat: leg press 4x10, walking lunges 3x12, leg curl 3x12, calves 3x15. After bench: incline dumbbell press 4x10, cable flyes 3x12, lateral raises 3x15, triceps pushdowns 3x12. Rest periods are short (60-90 s) and the pace is steady, keeping your muscles under sustained metabolic stress.
The program follows 4-week block periodization designed to keep you progressing long-term. Week 1: moderate volume with medium loads to establish baseline. Week 2: increased volume. Week 3: peak intensity with reduced volume. Week 4: deload for recovery and supercompensation. The coach manages your programming and adjusts loads week by week based on your feedback and performance numbers.
This class is for intermediate practitioners with at least 6 months of lifting experience. You need to know the basic lifts and have decent technique on squat, deadlift, and bench press. If you are just starting out, begin with Iron Muscle to build your foundation before moving to Powerbuilding where the loads get serious.
Bring lifting shoes or flat shoes (Converse), a lifting belt if you have one, a water bottle, and a towel. We supply chalk, Olympic bars, calibrated plates, dumbbells from 2 to 50 kg, cable machines, and all accessory equipment you need for the hypertrophy work.
